Band - Christine Oxman

I've been experimenting with sounds for years. When recording during late nights with neighbours and room mates close by, this kind of mystique grew in my music. I started out recording with the equipment I had. Having to find solutions when being restricted made me have to extend the traditional boundaries and expand my creative mind. A rough, dirty sound was created by whispering through effect pedals and using all kinds of instruments I found at flee markets and when travelling (which I do alot). I was tired of the singer-songwriter genre and felt I wanted to experiment with other genres. Some people asked where I'd record my album after I'd done the demo, others told me I had to use the demos because of its vulnerable, authentic sound. I chose the latter. A contrast to todays flawless, super produced, compressed mp3:s. I wanted to go back to the more honest sound (which includes flaws and noise) created with a modern mind. I play all the instruments even though I use some of the recordings as backtracks when I play live.
