Singer and Songwriter aus Texas
Joshua Thompson, bassist for the ToneDeaf Hippies, is originally from Plainview, Tx. From Plainview he moved to Edmond, Ok to attend college at Oklahoma Christian University in the fall of ’99. At the age of twenty and with some knowledge of the guitar, Joshua picked up the bass to form a band with fellow friends Jerrod Hardegree and Justin ‘Rooster’ Ross. Joshua began his career playing the local spots in the OKC and surrounding area. In the fall of 2006 Joshua made the move to Ft. Worth where he met Cody Jinks. In August of 2007 Joshua began playing bass for Cody. While backing Cody as a member of the ToneDeaf Hippies, Joshua plays over one hundred twenty dates a year and has opened for the likes of Robert Earl Keen and Miranda Lambert. Joshua knows he is very lucky to have the support of his lovely wife Katie as he continues to play on a professional full time basis. During time off the road Joshua enjoys spending his time with Katie finding and listening to vinyl records, cooking, and is a faithful P1 during the day.
Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Jon Wallace plays lead guitar with the Tonedeaf Hippies. His dad is a bass player, mom plays the French horn and his grandfather was a jazz pianist so he never had a chance, really. Music has always been a big part of his life. It’s in his blood—and he likes it that way.Originally inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jon cites Stephen Bruton, Hubert Sumlin, David Grissom, Gurf Morlix, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmie Vaughan and anyone else who inspires him as influences. He and his wife, Rosalyn, and their two cats, Ned and Abbey, lead a somewhat peaceful and hardly ever normal life in North Texas.Jon enjoys playing music, travelling, spending time with his family, herding cats and watching movies. He’s a giant Star Wars nerd. A generally easy-going guy, Jon is addicted to coffee and electric guitars, and doesn’t plan on parting with either any time soon. You can follow Jon's blog at Lone Star Guitar.
Brendan, a native of Seattle, Washington, picked up his first pair of drumsticks at age 13, playing mostly punk rock right up through high school. After graduating high school in 2002, Brendan further developed his jazz drumming and reading skills at Bellevue Community College in his home state of Washington. From 2003 to 2005, Brendan received a scholarship to play drums in the big band and the vocal jazz ensemble at BCC which, in that time period, traveled to Italy, China, and Prague. After finishing up his associates degree at BCC, Brendan moved to Denton where he pursued a degree in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas. From 2006 to 2010, he worked his way through the Jazz program playing in bands including the zebras, the Latin jazz lab, and the 3 O’Clock lab band among others. Brendan has worked extensively with the Tatiana Mayfield quintet including playing drums on her debut album, “From All Directions.” Brendan received his bachelors degree in Jazz Studies from UNT in December of 2010.
