Band - Lisa Mitchell
Having been ensconced in the studio working on her forthcoming album, Lisa Mitchell is pleased to announced details of a brand new track Warhol through Play It Again Sam.
Singer-songwriter, Mitchell has just announced a series of live shows in Europe, as well as in her native Australia, having guested on Grouplove’s recent shows down under which pre-empts her forthcoming album. Overseen by producer Eric J Dubowsky (Chet Faker, Flume), Warhol follows previous track The Boys and once again accompanied by visuals that portray Mitchell’s charm and elegant fragility. The track as Mitchell herself explains; “was about something that happened in my personal life and I’m so happy to finally release it. At The time of writing, I felt betrayed by something and was still fuming and at a loss when I wrote the words. I kept hearing Warhol through the melody I was mumbling… It’ s as if I was calling out to Andy Warhol , as if he were a dear confidante… A world to find refuge in…”The accompanying live video features Lisa and her band, the idea evolved whilst the band were in full dress rehearsal for their upcoming live dates. Only then she and her bandmates decided to give each song a different look and feel, visually enveloping a track that highlights Mitchell’s delicate and ethereal vocals.
