8th Italian jazz Festival in Berlin
An exceptional encounter between some of the most interesting musicians from various regions of the Italian Jazz scene and the Berliner Jazz scene. Four unforgettable concerts at the Kunstfabrik Schlot on November 23.-26. The Festival will open on 23.11 with a concert inspired by Luigi Pirandello, Nobel Prize winner in literature, for his 150th Anniversary, with creative actor/singer Matteo Gazzolo and pianist Donatello D’Attoma Trio.
On 24.11 „From Martin Luther to Claudio Monteverdi“ two jubilees in music 500 and 450 years! With the project of virtuoso pianist Ekkehard Wölk’s, Lutheriana and several guests.
On 25.11 will come a delegation of the Conservatory N. Sala of Benevento, a Quintet featuring pianist star Gianluca Podio and lyric Aldo Bassi on trumpet.
On 26.11 the return of the poetic Trio of pianist Carlo Morena and his own compositions. Representing the Berlin Jazz scene will perform Giorgio Crobu, Josh Ginsburg, Andrea Marcelli, Igor Spallati and Jörn Henrich.
Diverse musical „dialects“ fusing magically and directing toward a creative road always based on sincere musical dialog. The bands will propose both original compositions and rearrangements of famous Italian melodies from different parts and historic periods of Italy.
