Daniel Ramm and Frank Greiner were born in east germany in the late 70 s. Ever since they conciously listened to music, their main pleasure has been to explore changing musical trends. Emotion has been the transmitter of their cooperation. In the brandenburg musical scene, however, you where pretty isolated with this attitude.

During their youthfull escapades of the 90s their ways kept crossing. Frank Greiner have spend his free time spinning records since 1993. At his first partys he discovered his passion for electronical club musik and musical extravaganzas. In 1995 he played his first set in a Club in Frankfurt/ Oder. Daniel Ramm was so intrigued by his independent mix of dub, trip hop, rock and jazz, that after a thrilling conversation a friendship started.

Daniel is obsessed by programming music since 1993. With an Amiga500 he gets his first opportunities of programming music. From initially nearly too fast melodic trance to a sudden inspiration by slower house music in 1995. Later he did several live sets in Brandenburg region, around Berlin and in his home town, with a simple set-up (amiga/sampler/synth). His training as electronical communication engineer reinforced his interest for soundproduction.

In 1999 each of them moved to Berlin. Their love of electronical music, however, soon brought them together again. Pikaya is the result of the musical journey of these young men, who have clipped their heads and machines together since 2000. On the way they constantly grabbled with their respective ideas, but still managed to arrange them.

Actually Frank and Daniel are playing the Pikaya live set in Europe. They already visited different clubs in Italy, France, Spain and Switzerland. This was inspiring them a lot for further works at the studio.

The last Pikaya record on Cadenza was released in summer 2007 on Cadenza Records. The name is Kambrium EP and it came with two Pikaya tracks. Jedi and Fango were played live in the set before remixing and finishing it in the studio.

An EP called JIVE on Meander Music was well recieved in 2008. Another EP on Meander will be out soon.
