QUINCEY (Amsterdam / NL, Modern Jazz):

Many years ago, in the still of night, a quintet was driving on a country road in the deepsouth of France. In their old Ford Transit, they were on their way to a musical
adventure. It was getting late and fatigue struck them, when suddenly there was a loudbang and the van came to a sudden halt. Dumbfounded, the boys looked out into the night. They had hit an old French namesign. It read: QUINCEY. In 2006, QUINCEY reached the finals of the Dutch Jazz Competition. In recent years, QUINCEY shared the stage with several other Dutch artists, like Benjamin Herman, Francien van Tuinen, Jesse van Ruller, Deborah Carter, Roos Jonker, Paul van Kessel, Ruud Breuls, Anton Goudsmit and Room Eleven’s Janne Schra.
