Sanna Ruohoniemi, based in Stockholm, is the latest in a long line of strikingly individual Nordic artists & composers who successfully melds the open-sky freedom of modern jazz with the rich folk traditions of her homeland.
Europe Jazz picked her latest album ”Start from Nothing” (Eclipse Music, 2018) among one of the best album releases on November 2018.
Successful album release tours covered for example Stockholm Jazz Festival and Sydney International Womens Jazz Festival. Sanna is known for expressive live performance, her improvisational verve and creative risk-taking.
Sanna Ruohoniemi gehört zu den interessantesten Vokalmusikern der jungen Generation in den Nordischen Ländern, sowohl als Sängerin als auch als Komponistin. Das Debütalbum „Tales of a Stranger“ (Eclipse Music 2016) wurde von Kritikern aus ganz Skandinavien gefeiert und geehrt.
