The Sunbeams
The Sunbeams are a high energy rock covers outfit, the freshest new live act in Berlin. They play a rousing selection of tunes from a hugely varied setlist, ranging from oldies by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, through classics by U2 and Nirvana, right up to current hits by The Kooks and Kings of Leon, to name but a few. Once these boys get going, there is no stopping them. One song runs into the next, filling the dancefloor from the off, and keeping it that way til the lights come up. The Sunbeams were formed way back in 2003, in Cork, Ireland. They have since toured Ireland extensively, packing out venues in Cork, Galway, Dublin, Donegal and just about everywhere in between. The band have appeared at numerous festivals all over the country, as well as being long-term residents in two of the country's premier clubs, Cork's Savoy Theatre, and The Gaiety Theatre, Dublin. Originally a four-piece, since relocating to Berlin a year ago, they have mostly appeared as a stripped down acoustic duo, establishing residencies in The Irish Harp, The Oscar Wilde, Kilkenny, Murray's (RIP) and various other smaller venues. But now, with the addition of fellow Irishman Mr. Andy on drums, the real Sunbeams are back in business!
